Using Alternative Investments

Should your financial outcome be solely dependent on the stock and bond markets?  Some think of "risky" or "expensive" when they hear the words alternative investments.  While they carry their own types of risk and expense, alternative investments simply refer to those that aren't your traditional investments such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds.  All investments, including stocks, bonds and even Certificate of Deposits (CDs) have variations in risks and expenses just as do alternative investments.

We emphasize using alternative investments to try to protect a client’s portfolio from fluctuations in the stock market and to provide additional ways to grow an account or generate income.  As an independent firm, we are not tied to the products of any one company or to a select few.  We can recommend from a broader array of products that we feel are better suited to helping you achieve your goals, including alternative products not correlated to the stock market.

Alternative Solutions Examples:

  • Equipment Leasing & Financing
  • Hedge Funds
  • Land Development and Repurposing Programs
  • Oil and Gas Partnerships
  • Private Debt
  • Private Equity
  • Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs)
  • Real Estate Interval Funds
  • Real Estate Tax Advantage Programs

Please note that some products may not be available in all venues, or to all investors.   Some products have minimum income and/or net worth requirements or may have a minimum investment amount.   Some products are illiquid, and only suitable for long-term investors.
